As for the rest of the draft order? Yeah… that’s on lockdown. The coaches took a vow of selective amnesia — files wiped, notes shredded, memories conveniently missing. Don’t bother asking. Nobody remembers a thing.

The full schedule will be posted later today, so keep an eye out — the entire day is shaping up to be something special. Browse the table below to look up players, filter by team, and start scouting the field. Coaches will be reaching out to their players in the next day or so.

2026 Adult Tourney Brackets Released

Below you’ll find the brackets for this weekend’s adult tournaments. These listings reflect the most current information available as teams prepare for play. Any corrections or adjustments made between now and the start of the tournament will be updated here and clearly noted, ensuring all players and fans have the latest details.

Check back often for more tourney info leading up to the tourney and good luck to all teams competing this weekend!

2026 Youth Tourney Brackets Released

The 2026 DAMSL Youth Tournament brackets are set — check them out below! Game action gets underway at 8:00 AM on Saturday. Seeds 3 through 6 in each division will play in the first round, while the top 2 seeds in each division receive a first-round bye.

Field 2 is open all day for practice. No games have been scheduled there, so teams are welcome to use it to warm up or work on things between games. If there’s a line, please be courteous — take turns or share the space. Everyone’s welcome out there.

There’s plenty of awards to play for this year! Here’s what’s up for grabs…

  • Trophies are awarded to the top 3 finishers in each division
  • An All-Tournament Team will be named for both divisions
  • Each team will also hand out their own Most Improved Player award

This is one of the best days of the year, and we’re looking forward to seeing all the teams compete and most importantly – have fun! Good luck to everyone!

2026 DAMSL Draft Tourney: Sign‑Up & Details

Cross Pointe is excited to host the Second Annual DAMSL Draft Tournament on Saturday, August 29th — all to help raise funds for their second softball field! The tournament will once again be held at Cross Pointe and is open to all DAMSL players, regardless of division. All games will follow standard DAMSL rules.

Last year’s inaugural event brought out 86 players, and you’d be hard‑pressed to find anyone who didn’t absolutely love it. This year, we’re expanding — but only a little. Player capacity is capped at 112 participants (8 teams of 14), and we expect spots to fill fast. Sign up early to secure your place.

Entry fee:

  • $20 per player
  • $50 max per immediate family

Concessions will be available onsite throughout the day.

If you’ve never played in a draft tournament, here’s the fun part: eight coaches will take turns drafting players to build their rosters, creating balanced, competitive, and unpredictable teams. It’s an incredible day of softball, community, and fellowship — truly one of the most memorable events of the season.

We prefer payments via Venmo to DAMSL, but checks made out to DAMSL are also welcome and can be given to Allen Goldsmith, Bobby Wolcyn, or Chris VanAnda.

2026 Youth Schedule Released

The DAMSL is excited to announce that the full 2026 Youth Softball schedule is now live! This year, our 12 youth teams are split into two divisions, mirroring the structure of the adult league. Each team will play eight games: facing three divisional opponents twice and the remaining two teams once.

The season begins on Monday, June 1st and runs through Monday, July 27th.

Most teams will have Monday, July 6th off due to the holiday week. However, two games are scheduled that night to accommodate prior commitments on other dates such as VBS. The teams involved have already been notified.

A quick scheduling note for June: All Sandquist games in June will start at 7:15 PM to allow baseball games on those fields to finish. Beginning in July, game times return to our standard 7:00 PM start.

Please also mark your calendars for the End‑of‑Season Tournament on Saturday, August 1st. It’s always a highlight of the summer, and we hope every player can be part of it.

If coaches have any questions about their schedules, Chris is happy to help. And as a reminder, if any games scheduled at Sandquist need to be moved or rescheduled, please contact Chris ahead of time so he can coordinate with the softball association. They plan concessions, field prep, and staffing based on the expected number of teams each night, and your communication helps us be a good partner to the association.

Thanks, and have a fantastic 2026 season!

Key Rule Updates for the 2026 Season

With Opening Day upon us, we want to highlight several important rule updates for the upcoming season. Over the offseason, the entire rulebook was rewritten to improve clarity, remove redundancies, and make it easier for teams to understand expectations. While the core structure of the rules remain the same, a few key changes have been made since last year.

1. Team‑to‑Team Substitution Rule Removed

The rule implemented last year allowing players to substitute between teams within the same church has been removed. Additionally, the rulebook now clearly states that a player must appear in at least four games for a team to be eligible for tournament play. Any exceptions due to legitimate extenuating circumstances must be approved by the board.

2. Courtesy Runner Rule Standardized Across All Divisions

All three divisions will now use the same courtesy‑runner rule that Division 1 followed last season. The core of the rule is simple: “Up to two batters per half‑inning may receive courtesy runners without restriction, and any player may serve as a courtesy runner for any other player.” Additional details and clarifications are outlined in Rule 7.2.

If your team has a unique situation — for example, three or more players who are physically unable to run — please contact the board so we can work with you on an appropriate solution.

3. Updated Run Rules

Previously, the only threshold our league used was a 15-run lead after 5 innings. These have been slightly adjusted to the following…

  • 20‑run lead after 4 innings
  • 15‑run lead after 5 innings
  • 10‑run lead after 6 innings

4. Refined Swearing and Conduct Rule

The swearing rule has been expanded to clearly distinguish between minor and major offenses. This update allows the league to address conduct issues more consistently while still recognizing the difference between accidental slips and more serious behavior. Full details regarding swearing and other conduct are outlined in Rule 4.4.

With these updates in place, we’re excited to get the 2026 season underway. Thanks for your commitment to the league and for helping us create a great experience on the field all summer long.

2026 Preseason Tourney Recaps

Salem once again served as the unofficial launch point for the DAMSL season, hosting its annual One Pitch Tournament on the Saturday before Opening Day. The event has developed a reputation for foreshadowing the summer ahead: the last two One Pitch champions—New Hope Cambridge 1 in 2024 and Karmel 1 in 2025—both went on to win the D1 championship later that year. If that pattern holds, Karmel 1 is in a familiar and favorable position.

Karmel repeated as One Pitch champions, winning an electric 26–25 walk‑off thriller over New Hope Cambridge 1 in a rematch of last year’s D1 title game. In the bottom of the seventh, Karmel pushed across the decisive run to secure their second straight One Pitch crown and set the tone for another strong campaign.

Just a few miles away, another preseason storyline unfolded over at Sandquist. A last‑minute round‑robin event came together for teams not participating in the Salem tournament and was jokingly dubbed the Preseason NIT.

What began as a simple opportunity to get reps turned into a lively, competitive afternoon. Almost every game was close, but in the end New Hope Cambridge 2 edged out Grace Gospel for the inaugural Preseason NIT title on a tiebreaker.

One thing is clear: the Saturday before the DAMSL opener is the perfect window for teams to shake off the rust and enjoy some fellowship in the process. If your team is interested in joining a preseason tournament next year, reach out to any board member and we’ll connect you with the right group.

Eagle Brook Added to D3

Eagle Brook has joined Division 3 as a late addition, giving the division an even number of teams and eliminating all bye weeks. Existing schedules remain the same—any previously listed bye week is now a matchup against Eagle Brook.

D3 Schedules Released

Division 3 schedules are now live on the DAMSL website. With an odd number of teams this season, one team will have a bye each week.

If you spot any discrepancies or have questions, please contact Al or Chris.
